The M60, made by SACO Defense (now US.Ordinace) born the 50's and gone on duty in 1959 is the LMG made by USA to improve their troups rapid fire power!!
Despites the issues and troubles gone through, many of the USA eilte forces managed lots of M60 with various letal 7.62mm ammunitons...
It is generally used as a crew served weapon and operated by a team of two or three individuals. The team consists of the gunner, the assistant gunner (AG), and the ammunition bearer. The gun's weight and the amount of ammunition it can consume when fired make it difficult for a single soldier to carry and operate.
The M60 has been replaced during the years with much modern 5.56mm LMG that bring the M60 to the best option for those Poor countries needing for a low bufget Sqaud weapon...Many of those latin or far east coutris still have the M60 in their arsenal.....
